Snippet No. 2

This is another portion of the pen drawing i'm working on during my free-time.

Seeds

This is one of the many plants i have accumulated in the last couple weeks. I grew them all from seeds. This one is a sunflower. I think i will have to get a bigger pot for it soon, though because sunflowers grow to be quite ginormous, and this one is in a baby food jar currently. I'll upload a picture of all of my plants soon, but for now this one will have to do. My camera is out of battery (again), and i have to charge them.

Wing

This is a special chunk from an uncompleted pen drawing i'm working on. I'm really hoping i dont run out of ink... But i'll show the whole thing when i'm finished... until then, you just get to see snippets.

So i haven't made a post for a while, and i feel like i should update... plus i'm tired of seeing myself when i get to the page.
I like the olympics. My favorite are the winter ones, but both are great. Cause for just a while, it feels like everyone is happy w/ all the other countries. why cant we solve wars that way? just have our teams compete, and whoever wins, wins the war. That would be sooo cool.
Last night i had a dream that i lived in the past (which is frequent in my dreams, cause i worked in a living history museum for 5 years pretending to live in the year 1886). And upstairs in the house i lived in, there was a rat. so i like, killed it or knocked it out somehow, and then i threw it out the window. Well, later on, it came back, but it was a giant turkey w/ huge long legs. (which i know sounds ridiculous, but its a dream, so it made sense at the time). Then, the villagers all made this like, giant tower by climbing on each other, and they knocked out the turkey. it was very odd.
Today, i was brave. Its rare that i get to do something that risks my bravery. but today, i climbed across these beams in a garage, and i was terrified. But even though i was scared, i climbed across, and got all the boxes and stuff that i was passing down. It was quite exciting.
So have you ever heard of the biggest pillow fight? Apparently, in New York city, they had a huge pillow fight. or have it... i dunno... but i wanna go.
Isn't God amazing? I mean, I'm in physics class this year, and we learned about light. Light comes from the sun, right? Well, its white light, which consists of all colors. But, the only reason we can see those colors is if the chemicals w/ in the cells of an object reflect that color rather than absorb it. And, the different colors come from the reflecting of the photons within a light. when the photons are reflected at a certain frequency, we red. whereas if it reflects at a slower frequency, we will see a different color. We see all the colors that He has made, and its sooo much more complex than anyone could even imagine.

Winter Retreat

This was taken during our 12 hour bus ride home from pennsylvania. It was a looong ride home, and it snowed all the way.

So, like, 5 or 6 people have tagged me in those 25 things about me lists, and i havent done one yet. Beth finally convinced me. :) so here it goes.

1. if i could, i would get a herd of goats, and go herd them in like, Yellowstone or somewhere of the like. i absolutely love goats. they're so charismatic and quirky for livestock. haha. :)

2. i have a deep and random passion for plants. they're so green, and living. and the scent of the dirt w/ them smells really good

3. i was born during a huge thunderstorm. and i take pride in it. i like to think that thats sorta symbolic of who i am. maybe i'm wrong. but i can always hope.

4. i'm a preacher's daughter. actually, an ex-preacher's daughter. but people always say, "oooh, so you're a preacher's daughter" as if it they see me in a whole new light. its kinda strange.

5. my face turns red when: i laugh, get embarrassed, mad, annoyed, frustrated, short of breath. and yes, i know this. so for those people who think i don't, and tell me whenever it happens, i am writing this so that you know that i know. you know?

6. I love doing art. especially 3d, but painting is enjoyable too.

7. i'm semi-fluent in sign language.

8. I love sunflowers. They're so big and yellow and sunny. :)

9. i am overly confident in myself in many things i try to do. so much so, that when something big goes wrong with something i'm working on, i sometimes stress out... a little...

10. i love learning, but in a practical and real way.

11. i love doing the hard work. like, at conner prairie, i would much rather clean stalls, and haul water, or work the feilds than talk to visitors.

12. i'm scared to grow old and not be able to move like i used to.

13. i want to travel the world.

14. i love kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, and the outdoors in general.

15. I'm an extrovert who draws her energy from being alone..... if that makes sense.

16. I get the feeling that people think i dont care what others think of me. but i do.

17. i sometimes have a bad habbit of forgetting that i'm not smarter than everyone else, and that people think just as well as i do, a lot of the times probably better than i do.

18. i've worn glasses since i was 5 years old.

19. i love food. and cooking. (not baking as much) its so fun. :)

20. my hair turns redder in the winter. blonder in the summer. but i like it in the winter waaaay better. because i am NOT blond.

21. I'd love to go out (w/ my goat herd) to a similar woodsy middle of no where place, and just live off the land.

22. I can play violin. i'm not amazing, but i play, and i love it.

23. Contradictory to what most people might believe, i really enjoy dressing up in like, super overly fancy dresses or gowns. for like, 10 minutes, and then i put them back. :)

24. i've been told that i can put down alot of food for a girl. haha. i take pride in it.

25. i love laughing. and seeing others laugh. its one of my favorite things to watch/do.

Bedroom

Clutter hunches on every surface; papers, pens, notebooks, books, pictures, candles, hangers, a spare sock, thumbtacks, tangerine boxes holding more clutter, CDs, old ticket stubs, long died out glow sticks, and other random objects. A tie-dye curtain hangs in the window, which is excellent for sunny days, cause it gives a stained-glass effect. On the door, there is an Indian (not Native American) tapestry with shiny beads sewn to it, so when the morning light hits it, it sparkles on the wall. The bed has a sleeping bag covered with a quilt my mother and i made together, and a felt tie blanket that has red Coke logos on it. On the wall next to my bed, there is a splatter painting, a framed poster of the M*A*S*H* characters, and a huge National Geographic map of the world. The light blue of the ocean plays excellently with the bright yellow of the walls. My desk is a lovely dark mahogany with a beautiful stain. I quite like my bedroom.

Iris

Have you ever taken the time to just look at your own eye? They're so weird and cool. The iris especially. They're each unique, but they're so pretty. This isnt mine. I had a picture of mine, but my hard drive stopped working. When i do fine it, i'll edit this post w/ my picture.

Cupcakes and Stuff

These are my attempt no. 1 at cupcakes. Which as you can see didnt really dome up like cupcakes do... but that didn't stop them from being tasty.

You know something is good when you can eat it everyday of the week and still enjoy it the same. The sandwich in question is a ham-salami-cheese-banana pepper sandwich. YUM. Absolutely delicious....

It was very pretty this morning on the way to church.

♪Snow♫

So this morning, about ten o clock, it started snowing.... and hasn't stopped since. it isnt like, a flurry. This is the true to life, Old-Man-Winter type snow. Its just kept coming, and coming and coming. But, of course it decided to wait until we'd had the school day to be dangerous.... Oh well... it is a beautiful sight, and kind of a nice change from the gray-brown landscape.

A list, and a Prayer

These are a few notes I had on facebook. I'm currently transferring a bunch of them to my blog.

I didnt write the I've come to realize parts.. just the bits after the :
and this was like a survey thing, where you read it cause your friend wrote it, and then you copy and paste it to your own.

-I’ve come to realize that when I talk: i get waaaaaaaay too excited about what i'm saying sometimes.
-I’ve come to realize that if I love someone: then just watching them talk or something makes me smile big. :)
-I’ve come to realize that I need: to let go.
-I’ve come to realize that I’ve lost: friends, family, and time.
-I’ve come to realize that I hate it when: you get trapped by the vicious cycle of procrastination.
-I’ve come to realize that money: is needed for gas, gas is needed to drive to a job, and a job is needed to get money. its the never ending circle of death.
-I’ve come to realize that my mother: is probably going to never change for which i am half irritated to death, and 99% eternally grateful.
-I’ve come to realize that I’ll probably always be: imperfect, and shorter than many.
-I’ve come to realize that I have a crush on: a guy... but that's another story for another day.
-I’ve come to realize that the last time I cried was: not nearly loud or heavy enough for how i felt.
-I’ve come to realize that my cell phone: is really cool, but turned on probably too much...
-I’ve come to realize that when I wake up in the morning: there has never been enough time between then and when i fell asleep...
-I’ve come to realize that before I go to sleep at night: I'm always in a very deep and contemplative mood.
-I’ve come to realize that right now I am thinking about: possibly going to bed...
-I’ve come to realize that babies: give me the strangley mixed emotion of fright and awe.
-I’ve come to realize that people: always always always are wearing masks.
-I’ve come to realize that today I will: try to keep focus, as difficult as that is right now.
-I’ve come to realize that tonight I will: end up staying up too late, but hoping that we get a cancellation.
-I’ve come to realize that tomorrow I will: either go to school for a few hours before they send us home, or get stuck there for waaay too long, or not go at all....
-I’ve come to realize that I really want to: do great and amazing things sooner than i'm able.
-I’ve come to realize relationships: are sometimes awkward, sometimes annoying, sometimes downright infuriating, but almost always worth it at some point.
-I’ve come to realize love: is the most important thing in the world. (and no, not just like romance love).
-I’ve come to realize my best guy friend: will never judge me for my mistakes.
-I’ve come to realize my best girl friend: is one of the few reasons i am in the place i am today. and that she's the best. :)
-I’ve come to realize food: is so much fun to make, but alot more fun to eat....
-I’ve come to realize that when I’m a girlfriend: i tend to get over anylitical and screw things up by worrying.
-I’ve come to realize girls and boys: are totally mfeo, if ya know what i mean. ;D
-I’ve come to realize over the summer: i dont have a plan for the first time since freshman year.
-I’ve come to realize heartbreak: is more real than i used to think. and it hurts.

A Prayer

i want You to be the thing i need

show me who You are
be There
be True and Real
be more than a fairy tale
show me who You are
i'm too blind to see it on my own
and too simple to know whether i have or not
put it before me, as broad as daylight
and break me down to be vulnerable
do what you must to make me believe-- no,
see you for who and what you are
i want to be yours and no one else's
i want to grow into a beautiful, wild, captivating
work of art who knows you, sees you, and trusts you
who will bring your kingdom

i want a revolution of you. i want
crave for this generation to know your will and
forward it in a way that has never been before
show us the need and give us an insatiable hunger to
fill it. give us a passion for the obvious injustice in this world
and a heart that is ready and willing to bring it down
help us learn to get uncomfortable for your work
to get our hands dirty as we shine your light
make us all brave and not safe. prepare us
to Shake the Systems, launch a revolution, change
the WORLD, and the course of history.
equip us with deep roots, and a fire in our hearts to bring
your kingdom. give us a wild courage, deep faith, undying love,
and a burning passion for your people.

Close-Up

Its always really cool to see stuff close up. Skin is crazy.
This is also in memory of my African silver bracelet. It was my favorite, but it broke. :(

TShirt Designs

This is a t-shirt design I got to make once. Its "TGIW" for "Thank God Its Wednesday." it was a fundraiser for my trip to Ukraine. This one is the summer trees idea.
This one is the spring trees idea. I decided to stick w/ that one.

'

This is the final. Its pretty awesome. Its a tree because at the time, our youth group was doing a series called "Grow Your Roots Deep."
